Guangzhou- home to key trade shows in China

Guangzhou is the economic centre of the Pearl Delta River Delta and one of the major manufacturing centres that has earned China the sobriquet of “Factory of the world”. Therefore, international and domestic trade shows and trade fairs showcasing the manufacturing prowess of China are integral to the city. In fact, Guangzhou is usually a permanent fixture on the list of places to visit for trade shows amongst all serious large volume importers and buyers from China.

International trade shows in Guangzhou

Guangzhou hosts international trade shows for everything from electrical and electronic products, health and beauty products, handicrafts as well as large manufacturing units. The biggest of them all, of course, is the Canton Fair.

Canton Fair

Taking its name from the region (Canton) in which it is held, the Canton Fair, also known as the China Import and Export Fair, has been held over 100 times now, since its inauguration in 1957. The event is held twice a year, in April and October, at the Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou.

Since hundreds of thousands of visitors attend the Canton Fair each year, it is important to book your hotel rooms for the Fair well in advance, preferably a couple of months in advance at least.
