The Guangzhou Urban Planning & Design Survey Research Institute has recently completed 55 years of its establishment. A ceremony was organized recently to celebrate the occasion and during the function, the experts have informed regarding the development of a city, specially meant for the Asian Games.

As per the plan, the Asian Games Park, Athletes Village, Logistics Zone, Media Village, Technicians Villages, Stadiums and six clusters will be the parts of this developing Asian Games city.

Featuring the ecological characteristics of Lingnan style, the construction of the city focuses mainly on waterside residences. As a result, all the centers meant for business, entertainment, dining and cultural activities shall be well integrated with river and other water bodies.

As per the developmental plan, the rivers, streams, brooks, etc will be made wider to segregate the public areas of the city from the Athletes Village in order to have the smooth management of the games. More clusters, corridors, ecological parks are planned to be developed in the Pearl River delta region of the city.
